Tous Ensemble Pour La Propreté
Awareness Campaign
2024
Brussels
Belgium
Project Description
This awareness campaign was made for the socio-cultural association Konitza, and supported by the Commune of Saint-Gilles, ABP Bruxelles and other important partner institutions, to address the environmental impact of littering cigarette filters, used batteries, and improperly disposing of used cooking oil. The goal was to create awareness among citizens and promote responsible waste management practices.
The campaign's visual concept was built around the symbolism of cylindrical shapes, representing the physical forms of the items in question (cigarettes, batteries, and cooking oil containers). Each campaign visual highlights the environmental damage caused by these items when not disposed of properly.
Color Scheme
Light Orange for cigarette filters, representing the filter's appearance and drawing attention to this specific waste issue.
Red for batteries, symbolizing danger and toxicity.
Green for batteries, symbolizing the positive action of recycling.
Yellow for used cooking oil, chosen for its association with oil and liquids, emphasizing the importance of proper disposal to prevent water pollution.
Typography & Layout
I used a bold sans serif font to ensure clarity and impact. The visuals were laid out in A3 format, with images of cigarettes, batteries, or oil masked inside cylindrical shapes on the left, and a key environmental fact on the right. Important facts were highlighted to grab attention, with phrases such as "12 years" (time for a cigarette filter to decompose) emphasized in contrasting colors.
Supporting Materials
In addition to posters, I created mini brochures featuring simplified campaign visuals to be distributed throughout public spaces.
Each brochure highlights the campaign message in a two-page format: the left page for the visual and the right page for important environmental facts.
The design is adaptable for future materials, including larger posters, banners, and social media formats, ensuring consistency and longevity for the campaign.
